PSAU benights from the current strong Saudi economy due to its unique geographic location and its oil reserves, production, and export industry. However, PSAU is also working in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 which counts attracting international talent as one of its main goals, as part of the plan to grow the economy.

Therefore, PSAU have put into its main strategic plan a goal to attract and develop distinguished human resources (PSAU Strategic Goal 3). PSAU stated in its 2030 strategic plan that it is targeting to increase the percentage of distinguished recruits from the top 300 universities in the Shanghai ranking by 10% annually, to increase the rate of satisfaction of faculty members and employees with the services provided to them by an average of 0.25 points on the Likert scale annually from the base year, and to increase the employee satisfaction rate with the professional development programs offered to them by an average of 0.25 points on the Likert scale annually from the base year. PSAU is working to achieve these targets by developing standards and mechanisms for attracting and maintaining distinguished human resources (Executive objective 3.1), developing programs to prepare faculty members and new employees (Executive objective 3.2). developing programs to exchange human resources with pioneering universities (Executive objective 3.3), developing human resource incentive programs (Executive objective 3.4), developing programs to improve the skills and capabilities of human resources (Executive objective 3.5), and creating and developing units for human resource services (Executive objective 3.6).

In addition, PSAU has built sophisticated digital systems to support the faculty, staff, students and stakeholders. This is in line with the government plan to ensures the transformation into a digital society based on creating digital platforms to enrich effective community interaction and participation in a way that contributes to improving the citizen and expatriate experience in Saudi Arabia, and to be a digital and proactive institution capable of providing highly efficient digital services.
