Academic Mentoring and Support for Female Students
All female undergraduate students at PSAU are formally assigned an academic advisor as part of a mandatory advising system implemented across all colleges. This ensures that 100% of female students are enrolled in structured mentoring and advising arrangements throughout their studies. In addition to individual advising, the University delivers group mentoring programmes, workshops, and skills-development sessions specifically targeting female students, including orientation programmes for new entrants, academic skills enhancement, psychological and social adjustment sessions, and mentoring for high-achieving and at-risk students.
Participation data from academic advising activities indicate that thousands female students engage annually in one or more mentoring or advising interventions, including workshops, group guidance sessions, or targeted support programmes. Given the scale of female enrolment across PSAU’s colleges, even conservative participation estimates demonstrate engagement well in excess of 10% of the female student population.
These academic mentoring structures are further complemented by women-focused leadership, skills, and career-development initiatives, ensuring sustained and meaningful participation by female students. Collectively, this confirms that PSAU, as an institution, operates comprehensive women’s mentoring schemes with participation significantly exceeding the required threshold.

PSAU tracks applications, administers random readiness tests to track applications, tracks admission rates, monitors progress, and assesses graduation rates throughout the students' academic journey.
PSAU implements a carefully planned academic advising programme where every student is assigned a faculty mentor to guide and support his/her academic journey. Additionally, each fresh student is paired with a senior student as mentors. These mentors provide all the support they need to adjust to their academic and social life at the university. Furthermore, each course has a juniour academic staff as tutor.
In addition to the college-based mentoring, the Students' Affairs department has a dedicated guidance and counselling unit that provides round the clock support to all students.
Through the academic advisors, course tutors, senior mentors, and activities of the guidance and counselling unit, all PSAU students are provided adequate support towards the success of their studies and student life.
The table below provides an overview of some activities provided to students during the 2024 to 2025 period.

The level of beneficiary satisfaction at the university was measured through the administration of specifically designed surveys targeting students, employees, and faculty members. These surveys aimed to evaluate the beneficiaries' assessment of the quality of a range of essential services provided by the university.

PSAU i-Women Programme
The PSAU i-Women programme is another example of a structured mentoring and skills-development scheme designed to support female students, researchers, and early- and mid-career academics, particularly in STEM and medicine. The programme provides tailored mentoring, leadership development, research skills training, and access to national and international mentoring networks, enabling women to progress academically, professionally, and into leadership roles.
The i-Women programme is delivered through formal cohorts, mentoring relationships, masterclasses, and skills pathways managed centrally by the University. It is complemented by wider academic advising and mentoring systems that ensure sustained guidance and support for women across their academic lifecycle.
Together, these arrangements confirm that PSAU, as a university body, operates dedicated and structured women’s mentoring schemes embedded within its institutional strategy and delivery framework.
