The university hospital and dental clinic aim to revolutionize the concept of integrated healthcare management by advancing education, training, scientific research, and healthcare services at all levels. They provide a distinguished environment for education, training, and scientific research to foster innovation in healthcare.

The hospital is currently located off-campus and houses numerous medical specialties. It offers services through a wide array of general and specialized clinics, including student clinics at various university colleges.

The university hospital has seen significant advancements in both healthcare services and educational training. The university leadership aspires to establish the hospital as a leading center for specialized healthcare, particularly through the operation of advanced medical units that serve both citizens and university members. University Hospital Overview:
The university hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, located in Al-Kharj, Riyadh Province. It was inaugurated in 2010 and provides medical services to university members and their families. The hospital has a capacity of around 55 beds and offers primary care clinics as well as specialized clinics, such as internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, rheumatology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, family and community medicine, ophthalmology, and dermatology. Additionally, the Autism and Behavioral Disorders Center, equipped with the highest standards, offers comprehensive assessments and therapy sessions for children with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders to help them integrate into society.

The hospital also offers day surgeries in specialties like general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, plastic surgery, gynecology, and ear, nose, and throat surgery, performed by a group of specialized Saudi physicians.

About the Department

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University Hospital consists of family medicine and public health and is committed to providing medical education, increasing public awareness and providing comprehensive health for people of all ages.

The mission of the department is to instill the concepts of family medicine, community medicine and public health in our students and to contribute to promoting health in our community through the following:

Providing health services to patients in primary clinics at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University Hospital

Providing comprehensive and multidimensional education in skills, knowledge and methods in community medicine and teaching medical students at the university the foundations and principles of preventive health services and community medicine as well as the methodology and methods of scientific research.

Conducting field research in various fields of family medicine to support the scientific research process within the vision and plan of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.

Participate in educational activities and create community services to increase public awareness of the importance of comprehensive health.

  • Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G): Consultations are available to address various aspects of female reproductive health.   • Health Awareness Campaigns: The university's College of Applied Medical Sciences has organised extensive campaigns focused on specific women's health issues, such as breast cancer awareness, early detection, and post-mastectomy physical therapy.

  • Research and Academic Programmes: The university engages in health-related research, including studies on public health in Al-Kharj, which often involve topics specific to women's health, such as maternal-newborn health nursing. The university also has a Vice Deanship for Female Students Affairs across all its colleges, indicating a structure to support female students specifically.

    Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU) maintains a formal and publicly accessible institutional policy that prohibits all forms of discrimination, including those based on gender identity and gender expression. This commitment is operationalised through the University’s Inclusivity and Tolerance Policy, which explicitly includes transgender individuals under its protection against bias, harassment, or exclusion.

    Policy Statement

  • PSAU recognises the right of all individuals to self-identify their gender and ensures that transgender students, staff, and faculty are treated with dignity and respect. As part of its equality mandate, the University guarantees the following protections and support measures for transgender individuals:

  • No person shall face discrimination, harassment, or violence on the basis of gender identity, gender expression, or transition status.
  • All individuals will be addressed by their self-identified name and pronouns across all academic, administrative, and service platforms.
  • All policies and procedures, including those related to admissions, assessments, hiring, and promotion, apply equally and without bias to transgender members of the University.
  • Confidential access to healthcare, counselling, and wellness services is available to all, regardless of gender identity, through the PSAU University Hospital and medical centres.

Grievance mechanisms are in place to report instances of misgendering, discrimination, or exclusion, with appropriate redress and protection from retaliation.
